Editor's Review

The Hairy Dieters is a great book, if like me you want to lose weight but have failed on numerous occasions. I've lost count of the number of diets that I started only to give into temptation a few days in because the food they recommended didn't leave me full up or lacked taste. The Hairy Dieters book promises to change all that, although I was a little sceptical at first. However when I saw the front cover and it was obvious how slim they looked compared to when I had last seen them I knew they were obviously doing something right.

The book doesn't promise miracles, which is refreshing, instead it teaches you how to cook interesting new recipes and how to cook old favourites but in a more healthier way. For example there's a lot of emphasis on baking dishes in the book where once you may have fried them in oil or fat. The recipes are all easy to follow and there are no panic moments halfway through when they suddenly ask you to do something really complicated! The recipes are also a good balance between quick and easy and pushing your cooking skills a bit further "“ some of the ingredients they mentioned I had never heard of but they are all obtainable in your local supermarket if you ask.

Best of all, all of the recipes I have cooked from the book have been genuinely nice and I would cook them again. All in all, a good book and I am certainly using more healthy recipes and will be using this to help make all of them healthy eventually.
